About
Real systems, read for interviews.
howtheyscale collects engineering-blog write-ups from companies that run large systems and turns each one into a short study note: what broke or what was built, and which system-design interview question it answers.
How it works
- Collect. Once a day the site reads the public RSS feeds of company engineering blogs and finds posts it hasn’t seen.
- Summarize. Claude, Anthropic’s AI model, reads each new post’s feed entry and writes structured notes: a one-line summary in its own words, concept tags, the core failure or topic, the interview angle, and a difficulty rating.
- Browse. You search and filter by company, tag or difficulty, then follow the link to read the real article.
What it doesn’t do
- It never republishes an article. Only the short notes above are stored, and every entry links to the original.
- It has no accounts. Your “studied” checkmarks are saved in your own browser and never reach a server.
- It isn’t a replacement for the source. The notes are AI-written and can be wrong or oversimplified, so read the original before relying on a detail.
